Crofton Library Celebrates Dr. Seuss’ Birthday
March 1st, 2009 Categories: Events

It seems like every day is a holiday in March, starting with Peanut Butter Lover’s Day yesterday. Today is Dr. Seuss’ 105th birthday, and we’ll be celebrating it again on Wednesday with a parade at the Crofton Library. Your kids are no doubt suffering from cabin fever after being in the house all winter, so Dr. Seuss’ birthday is a great excuse to go spend some of that pent-up energy.
March is American Red Cross Month, Music in our Schools Month, Women’s History Month, National Frozen Food Month, National Noodle Month, Youth Art Month, National Craft Month and National Nutrition Month.
And let us not forget that the 2nd week of March is National Bubble Gum Week. Have a piece!
Here are some other occasions we celebrate each year in March:
- March 3 – The Star Spangled Banner adopted by Congress as our National Anthem (1931)
- March 6 – Dentist’s Day, Oreo Cookies’ birthday (they went on sale in 1912)

- March 20 – Big Bird’s Birthday, First Day of Spring
- March 24 – Chocolate Covered Raisins Day
