Maryland’s State Flower, the Black-eyed Susan, provides a stunning splash of color throughout Crofton and Anne Arundel County, Maryland, from May until August every year. That’s why I chose these Black-eyed Susans to welcome you to my blog for and about the Crofton area. Wherever I see them, Black-eyed Susans always make me think of home. It’s my hope you will think of Focus On Crofton.com, as well, when you see Maryland’s beautiful state flower.
Crofton, Maryland, has been home for me since 1973 when my husband Larry and I had two small boys and he received orders to teach at the Naval Academy as a young Navy Lieutenant. Now Larry is retired and we have five grandchildren as well as three grown children. Tim, Susan and Steve (in the photo, left to right) are very successful in their own fields, and you can count on me to brag when you ask about them. Yet we still call Crofton home, as empty-nesters, and we can’t imagine living anywhere else.
Focus On Crofton.com was created to provide informative and entertaining articles and lots of local pictures to Maryland newcomers and Crofton residents alike. You won’t find re-printed articles or advertising, just original content for and about Crofton written by me and occasional guest bloggers.
